Neilson's Dahab GPS Challenge

Neilson's Dahab centre manager Sam Ross has just been in touch about a new challenge that should be a lot of fun whether you're an expert speedsailor or just having a go for the first time:

 


"If you are heading out to the Neilson centre in Dahab this summer you may be able to come away with more than just having had a great holiday.

 

The centre speed ladder now has a great prize for the top speed of the season. Tushingham have offered up a brand new Aeron V-grip boom of the winner's choice.

The V-Grip is an alloy boom which rivals the stiffness of carbon, and also has a revolutionary new grip shape that helps you sail longer, great for any keen or budding speed sailor.

To get a chance of winning the prize all you have to do is come out on a Neilson holiday to Dahab, have as many runs as you like with the GPS and hopefully get the top slot. At the top of the leader board at the moment is Richard Hobson with 32.05knots.

The competition window ends at the beginning of November. So if you needed another excuse to come out and enjoy the great conditions in Dahab it's just arrived!

We've just heard from Neilson's Dahab Centre Manager Sam Ross, who seems more than happy with the extensive range of Tushingham and Starboard kit this year:

"Recently in Dahab we have just taken delivery of a literal barn load of kit. The racks are full with more boards and rigs still sat in boxes. The centre now has a full stock of new Starboard Boards with Kodes, Flares, Isonics, Rios, Futuras and the new Carves all ready to go. There are Tushingham sails from 2.0-8.5 to cover all eventualities, with everything up to 6.5 rigged on skinny masts. Larger sails boast 75% carbon masts with the entire centre on Aeron continous head booms.

There is even more focus now on providing the best possible windsurfing holiday, with lower numbers of guests more top end equipment coupled with free tuition for every level.

We have had some great conditions out here in Dahab so if you get the chance please come and join us.

dave_nottsNotts County Raceboard Masterclass!
Dave Hackford from Tushingham and Starboard, and not to mention Raceboard fame, is heading to Notts County Sailing Club near Nottingham on Wed 21st July 2010. He will be joined by Rich from Dave Noble’s the local windsurf shop.
This is an open invitation, to local clubs and windsurfers. Last year they had a great turnout of nearly thirty including visitors. David is bringing some demo gear to try and will be doing some on and off water Raceboard sessions, we will no doubt do some short sharp races, with some spot prizes (probably not going to the winners). He will no doubt talk about rigging, getting the most out of your board and how to join in a race.
He hopes to get down at 4pm and the Raceboard Training will start at about 5.30pm

Afterwards the bar will be open, and our caterer Pauline will be preparing some excellent reasonably priced food (£3.50 a meal), so with David there you could say it was a star in a reasonably priced bar! (sorry).

Juice Boardsports have e-mailed with news about their new demo van. It's purpose built and loaded to the roof full of the latest 2010 Starboard, Tushingham equipment (plus a few other brands!)

The van is often seen at beaches and lakes all over the North of England. If you find it at your local sailing venue and would like to give some kit a go give Gumpy a shout - he'll happily drop everything and help you out.  They also carry spares too - very handy if you break something at the beach!
