X-15 Sets Long Distance Record

GPS imageA lot of windsurfers see the use of the personal GPS unit as simply a means of measuring speed. But the logging of data can open up a many more possibilities...

Dutch rider Peter Vernet sent us an amazing message telling us that he managed to windsurf an incredible 426km in one day (that's nearly 265 miles!) He sailed all day on the popular Dutch spot of Straand Horst, joined by friend Ron den Besten.

A couple of food and drink stops, a couple of crashes and 9.5 hours later - an unofficial world record for most distance covered windsurfing in one day!

Peter was using an X-15 5.8m for the entire session and is hoping to break the 500km barrier in one day when the lighter days return in the spring.
